1.
What is improv comedy?
Improv is different than standup comedy. In a Stone Soup show we perform a series of skits or “games” with a group of improvisors. In improv everything is made up on the spot with suggestions from the audience. If you are familiar with the television show “Whose Line is it Anyway?” then you have seen improv.
2.
Where are your shows?
Our shows are at the BFUU auditorium at Cedar and Bonita in Berkeley. There is a map here.
3.
Are Stone Soup shows ok for kids?
We try and keep our shows “PG-13 friendly” but hey, it’s improv so your mileage may vary.  We often have kids 10+ at our shows, they seem to enjoy themselves or else are very diplomatic.
4.
I want to learn how to improvise! Do you have classes?
Stone Soup does not currently conduct classes. There are many options for improv classes in the East Bay. Many of our improvisors attend, or have attended classes at Berkeley Rep. Other classes available in the East Bay include Berkeley Improv, Magic Jester Theater, Pan Theater, and Rumor Improv (Contra Costa).
5.
Does Stone Soup do private shows or corporate events?
Yes! We can arrange events for 10-150 people. Contact us with the details of what you are interested in.
6.
Are tickets available at the door?
Yes we have a large capacity, but show up early for the best seats. Our doors open at 7:45. Also, seats at the door are cash only so if you want to pay with a credit card, buy in advance
7.
Do you serve drinks/food?
We have a limited selection of snacks and non-alcoholic beverages available at our shows.
8.
How long do your shows last?
Our shows typically last a little under 2 hours. There is a 15 minute intermission.
9.
I want to join you guys, do you do auditions?
Stone Soup periodically conducts auditions for improvisors with performance experience. If you are interested, contact us and we will let you know the next time we are auditioning.
10.
I bought tickets online and can’t attend, can I get a refund?
We can either refund your ticket (but our vendor charges a fee so it will not be a full refund), or we will credit you full price for another show. Contact us to let us know.
